Minutes of the meeting of 6/12/14
Meeting Opened at: 4pm
Select Board Members Present: Wayne Burkhart (arrived at 4:35pm), Chairperson, Scott Jenssen and Kenn Basler
Also in attendance for parts of the meeting: Maynard Forbes
The Board met to discuss the upcoming vacancy in the Highway Department:
- The Board discussed whether or not it was necessary to appoint a search committee to assist in filling the Director of Operations vacancy. Kenn felt that there may not be enough time to appoint a committee and still have some overlap with Maynard and the new person hired. It was agreed that the Board will handle the interviews but felt it may be helpful to have a group of interested parties that would meet with the Select Board to review the resumes received. The parties that will be asked to assist will be discussed further at Monday’s meeting.
- It was suggested that the advertised salary range should be $55,000 – $68,000.
- It was decided to put the help wanted ad in the Shopper’s Guide, Record and Eagle for 2 weeks and to have the deadline to submit an application as the 27th.
- Wayne arrived at 4:30 and the Board updated Wayne on what had been discussed.
A motion was made and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at: 5pm
